Cyberpunk 2077 disappeared from the top-downloads list of PS4 games on the PlayStation Store, a month after taking the number one spot by a small margin. The game was first released on April 16th, but was removed from the list on May 15th, just a matter of days after it became available for download.
It’s a little over a month after Cyberpunk 2077 took the top spot on the PlayStation Store’s digital game store, but the game is no longer top dog. The title is no longer in the top-10 of the store’s top-selling chart, either. It’s all quite confusing, especially since the game made such a splash at E3, where it was unveiled as the winner of the “Best in Show” award.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has just taken over the world. The open world role-playing game from CD Projekt Red is now the highest-selling game on the PlayStation Store, as evidenced by its recent appearance on the top-10 downloads list. The game also took the top-selling spot last month, suggesting it has been able to maintain that lead for some time.

The launch of CD PROJEKT RED’s controversial sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 coincided with the release of the PlayStation Store’s top downloads list for June 2024.
Despite being removed by Sony late last year for “performance issues” (which the company still warns players about with a disclaimer on its store page), Cyberpunk 2077 came back strong in June, topping the list of most downloaded titles, beating out heavyweight titles like Grand Theft Auto V and NBA 2K21.
Unfortunately for CD PROJEKT RED, PlayStation players seem to have forgotten about Cyberpunk 2077 once again.
Last week, Sony released their top downloads list for July 2024, and it showed that Cyberpunk 2077 had fallen considerably in the ranks. Actually, it seems to be worse than that, since the game has entirely vanished from both the US/Canada and EU top-20 lists of most downloaded games.
The disparity is not only startling, but also obvious, given that titles like Grand Theft Auto V and NBA 2K21 have maintained their top rankings. In North America, GTA V and NBA 2K21 were the top and second most downloaded PS4 titles in July 2024, respectively.
The latest big Cyberpunk 2077 news update came on June 21, when CD PROJEKT RED announced that the sci-fi RPG was officially back on the PlayStation Store. Since June 17, when Patch 1.23 was published, the game hasn’t gotten any updates.

FIFA 21 has taken the top spot on PS5 in both the US/Canada and EU regions, according to the top download statistics for July. The PS4 witnessed a regional divide, with FIFA leading the way in the EU and GTA V soaring to the top in the US. Meanwhile, due to its hugely successful beta, portal-based shooter Splitgate rocketed to the top of the Free-to-Play list.
